Lifespace Communities, Inc., one of the top 10 largest nonprofit senior living communities in the country, announced that six of its continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) have been recognized as America’s Best for 2024 by Newsweek, in partnership with respected global research firm Statista.

As shared by Newsweek, CCRCs are emerging as a desirable option for seniors looking for both the independence they want and the care they may need. With approximately 2,000 CCRCs in the U.S., these communities provide a continuum of care that adapts to the evolving needs of aging people. This is the first CCRC ranking by Newsweek.

“This prestigious acknowledgment is a testament to our commitment to excellence in providing exceptional care, vibrant living, and a fulfilling lifestyle for our residents,” said Lifespace Chief Operating Officer Brian Robbins. “We are dedicated to reinvesting in our communities in order to offer thoughtful and personalized experiences and amenities, empowering our residents to thrive and live their aspirations. We are honored to be acknowledged for our dedication to creating communities that truly stand out in the senior living industry.”

The six Lifespace CCRCs ranked among America’s best (alphabetically) in 2024 include:

– Abbey Delray, Delray Beach, Fla.
– Abbey Delray South, Delray Beach, Fla.
– Friendship Village of Bloomington, Bloomington, Minn.
– Harbour’s Edge, Delray Beach, Fla.
– Querencia at Barton Creek, Austin, Texas
– The Waterford, Juno Beach, Fla.

“Our team members are deeply committed to delighting our residents,” said Lifespace President and CEO Jesse Jantzen. “It is an honor and privilege to serve our residents in the communities they call ‘home’ for the rest of their lives. Newsweek ranking a number of our Lifespace communities among ‘America’s Best CCRCs’ is a resounding validation of our team members’ enduring dedication to the wellbeing and comfort that empowers our residents to thrive.”

To provide people looking for guidance on CCRCs with a comprehensive resource for informed decision making, Newsweek and Statista partnered for the first time to award the leading 250 America’s Best CCRCs 2024 in the U.S. The 20 states with the most CCRCs were included in the ranking. A score was calculated for each CCRC that was part of the analysis to create the ranking. The total score is based on national online surveys of medical professionals and acquaintances of residents and residents living in CCRCs and accreditation data.
