Residents at Friendship Village of South Hills definitely know how to have a good time. This year’s running of the Kentucky Derby left no doubt about that, as they gathered to cheer on their favorite horse, and enjoy food and the company of good friends. While not everyone was happy about Nyquist, the heavily favored horse going into the race, winning the day, all enjoyed the festivities.
The annual Kentucky Derby event, which has grown in popularity among residents each year, is just one example of the active lifestyle residents enjoy, thanks to the peace of mind provided by the Life Care plan at Friendship Village.
“They’re able to enjoy themselves each and every day, and live life without worries,” said manager of sales and marketing Lori Seuss. “The Derby event really exemplifies that, with everyone being so relaxed – laughing and talking without a care in the world.”
While not all residents took part in the Derby tradition of making a fancy hat to wear, many enjoyed a mint julep and some great food.
