Florida Governor’s Gold Seal Once Again Awarded to Village on the Green

Category: Community Life

Village on the Green has once again received the Gold Seal Award from the Governor’s Panel on Excellence in Long-Term Care, effective July 1. Only four percent of licensed skilled nursing providers in Florida are awarded the seal. Statewide, only 32 providers have received the honor. The Gold Seal Program awards and recognizes long-term care providers that demonstrate excellence over a sustained period, promote the stability of the industry, and facilitate the physical, social and emotional well-being of skilled nursing residents.

“The Gold Seal is a huge honor for us and the people we serve,” said Gail Wattley, Health Center administrator at Village on the Green. “The award is a tribute to the expertise and talents of our team members, their compassion and dedication to serving older adults.”

Village on the Green has held the Gold Seal seven times and has now earned it for another two-year period. They’re one of two skilled nursing providers in the state to be the longest consecutive recipients of the honor. The award is part of a ranking system created by the state of Florida in 2000 as a way for consumers and medical professionals to rank care quality of skilled nursing providers.
