Nebraska seniors with hopes of seeing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Opera’s performances of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ will have to find tickets – unless, of course, they happen to live at Grand Lodge at the Preserve. The UNL Opera brought the classic comedy to residents in early May, the only performance on the statewide tour taking place at a senior living community.
“We’re thankful to the UNL Opera for working with us to make such a wonderful opportunity possible for our community,” said Lisa Henning, Executive Director of Grand Lodge at the Preserve. “We’re honored to be the only senior living community in Nebraska to have offered this type of event.”
Grand Lodge residents already enjoy a wide variety of activities and events year-round, but Henning says the opportunity to bring something like the UNL Opera directly to residents is something that sets them apart.
“Many of our residents are involved in various groups and events in the local community, but it’s extraordinary for an event of this nature to come directly to us,” she said.
