A small act of kindness goes a long way. And for residents of Friendship Village of Bloomington, in Bloomington, Minn., their acts of kindness go around the world.
Volunteering for the Feed My Starving Children organization is becoming an annual tradition at Friendship Village. Each year, residents spend a day at the nearby nonprofit organization hand-packing meals to feed hungry children across the globe. The meals are specifically formulated for malnourished children and shipped to 70 different countries.
This year, the Friendship Village volunteer group made 121 boxes of food containing more than 4,500 hand-packed meals.
