In 2013, Beacon Hill was named one of the best places to work in Chicagoland.

Beacon Hill was one of 1,728 companies invited by the Chicago Tribune to take part in the survey. The senior living community ranked in the top midsize employers, those with 250-999 employees. Beacon Hill currently employs 258 people.

“There’s a lot of pride in this win, not just from the staff, but from our residents too,” said Blaire Goldstein, executive director at Beacon Hill. “Our staff is incredibly committed to our residents, and all our staff members really feel as if they’re part of a larger community.”

Results were based on the employers with the most dynamic, supportive and inclusive work environments.

Blaire says this honor shows how dedicated Beacon Hill’s staff is to its residents, and how well residents connect with staff. The friendship between residents and staff goes so far that it was actually the residents who encouraged Beacon Hill to take part in the survey.

“We all feel responsible for creating a fantastic work culture here at Beacon Hill, and every day our employees take extra steps to make it a special place to work for everyone,” Blaire said. “It’s something we often take for granted, but I know it’s rare. We’re extremely fortunate to work at Beacon Hill.”
